Sonia Plotnick Health Fund Scholarship at St. Petersburg College

The Sonia Plotnick Health Fund (SPHF) is committed to offering financial assistance to women studying to obtain a degree in a healthcare field. SPHF has partnered with St. Petersburg College (SPC) to offer a regular academic scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to help cover the cost of tuition, fees, books and/or other bona fide college expenses for students attending SPC.
• be enrolled in a healthcare-related field
• have a 3.0 or higher grade-point average
• have a record of community involvement
• preferably be a woman
• preferably be a member of the SPC GLOW club, which is an acronym for “Gay, Lesbian or Whoever”, a support organization that is a safe place for students who may be interested in the lesbian and gay community. Members are “the allies as well as folks who may self identify” as being gay or lesbian.
Two students will be awarded $1,000 each annually, distributed in $500 increments across the Fall and Spring terms for each recipient. The decision-making process for scholarships is handled exclusively by SPC.
